Broncos DE Derek Wolfe says he threatened to eat Philip Rivers' kids during game
Defensive players say all kinds of things to get into the heads of the opponents, especially quarterbacks. But Denver Broncos defensive end Derek Wolfe had to have crossed a line when he threatened to eat Philip Rivers' kids during the Broncos’ 27-19 win Sunday.
Wolfe, who hit Rivers three times in the game, said the Chargers quarterback didn’t say another word to him after he made the unusual threat to consume Rivers’ eight children.
Rivers had an off game, finishing 20-of-47 for 267 yards and threw three interceptions. It’s debatable how much of an effect Wolfe’s comments might have had on Rivers. But the strangeness of the threat certainly can’t be questioned.
