Broncos, Raiders and 49ers hire special teams coaches
Things are starting to come together.
Three NFL teams made moves to fill out open spots for special teams coaches on Tuesday. First, the Denver Broncos announced the hiring of Joe DeCamillis, who is entering his 27th season in the NFL and has been a special teams coach for the last 22. He most recently was with the Chicago Bears under Marc Trestman from 2013-2014.
It's a homecoming for DeCamillis, who started with the Broncos in 1988 as an administrator before eventually joining the staff as a defensive quality control coach in 1990.
Denver's AFC West rival, the Oakland Raiders, have hired Brad Seely, who previously served under Jim Harbaugh in San Francisco. Seely has been in the league since 1989 and has had stops with the Colts, Jets and Patriots, among other teams.
Finally, a source has also said that the San Francisco 49ers are all set to hire Thomas McGaughey, who worked for the New York Jets under Rex Ryan. McGaughey worked with new 49ers head coach Jim Tomsula during their time with the Rhein Fire of NFL Europe.
