Updated Mar. 4, 2020 7:49 p.m. ET

BEREA, Ohio (AP) Cleveland Browns offensive lineman John Greco has been placed on injured reserve after hurting his right foot in Sunday's loss to New York.

Greco started all 12 games for the winless Browns, who have been overrun by injuries all season. He started 10 games at right guard and two at center. Greco did not miss a snap before he was injured in the third quarter of the 27-13 loss to the Giants.

The 31-year-old Greco has made 70 career starts for St. Louis and Cleveland. The Rams traded him to the Browns before the 2011 season. Greco also ended last season on injured reserve.

Also, Browns rookie quarterback Cody Kessler has been cleared from concussion protocol and returned to practice Monday. Kessler sustained his second concussion in 29 days on Nov. 20 against Pittsburgh.

Kessler has made eight starts.

The Browns claimed offensive lineman Matt McCants off waivers from Oakland. He spent four seasons with the Raiders.
