Buffalo Bills fire their offensive coordinator after scoring 31 points on the Jets
What do you get when your team scores three touchdowns against what's supposed to be one of the NFL's top defenses? If you're Buffalo Bills offensive coordinator Greg Roman, the answer is simple: You're fired.
The Bills confirmed the announcement shortly after it was reported by multiple outlets on Friday:
Greg Roman has been relieved of his duties.

Roman was named the Bills' offensive coordinator after the 2014 season. He spent the four seasons prior to that as offensive coordinators for the San Francisco 49ers. With the Bills staring at an 0-2 start, and with Buffalo head coach Rex Ryan potentially coaching for his job at this point, the team apparently decided something needed to be done. Yet the Bills were tied for sixth in the NFL in yard-per-play last season under Roman and finished in the top half of the league in scoring offense at just shy of 24 points per game.
More worrisome for the Bills, however, is the Rob Ryan-led defense. Buffalo gave up 37 points to the Jets on Thursday night, and New York QB Ryan Fitzpatrick roasted the Buffalo secondary on his way to 371 yards passing. This is the same Fitzpatrick, of course, whom the Jets nearly refused to sign this offseason.
