Cam Newton's celebration costs Panthers LB a touchdown
Cam Newton's on-field celebration didn't end up hurting the Carolina Panthers on Thursday night, but he might get another letter from that angry mom.
Newton was whistled for celebrating linebacker A.J. Klein's 95-yard interception return on the field, negating the touchdown. However, the Panthers wound up getting a TD on the ensuing drive anyway.
Newton knows he was lucky this time.
"I just got too excited," Newton told reporters sheepishly after a 22-19 loss at Baltimore. "I was hoping they would give a warning. It's no big deal."
If anything, he should've been penalized for this hat he wore before and after the game.
The Associated Press contributed to this report.
Cam Newton showed up to tonight's press conference in a Pharrell hat.
