San Francisco 49ers running back Carlos Hyde ran for an 11-yard touchdown against the Los Angeles Rams in the first quarter of Monday Night Football.

For many years, fans of the Los Angeles Rams dreamed of having a football team. After moving back from St. Louis to Los Angeles, the Rams got their first Monday Night Football appearance in over 20 years against the San Francisco 49ers.

The 49ers opened up the scoring first with an 11-yard touchdown run by Carlos Hyde.

That’s an impressive run from Hyde. Hyde does a great job at the line of scrimmage completely faking out the Rams and getting into the end zone untouched. The 49ers’ running game has looked very strong so far. It was impressive in the preseason and it’s already looking good in the regular season.

Hyde will play a huge role in the 49ers’ offense this season. He has 803 yards through his first two seasons entering Monday night’s game. With his 11-yard touchdown run, Hyde now has eight career rushing touchdowns. Hyde has averaged 4.1 yards per carry in his career.

Originally drafted by the 49ers in the second round of the 2014 NFL Draft out of Ohio State, Hyde is finally playing a large role in San Francisco offense. With quarterback Blaine Gabbert, the 49ers are likely going to go with an offense that revolves around running. The 6’0″ 235-pound running back has a very strong running style. As he showed in his 11-yard run, he can also move pretty fast as well.

The 49ers have rallied around backup quarterback Colin Kaepernick. They should be applauded for supporting him and turning a potentially negative situation into a positive one. San Francisco could wind up being one of the feel good stories of the NFL this season. Chip Kelly has to be proud of how his locker room has reacted.
