Chargers kicker Josh Lambo apologizes for upsetting people with his actions after loss
Josh Lambo apologized to teammates and fans after the San Diego Chargers kicker was seen laughing with Oakland's Sebastian Janikowski at the end of Sunday's loss to the Raiders.
The Chargers' 10th straight loss in division play was sealed when rookie holder Drew Kaser fumbled the snap as Lambo attempted a tying field goal. Afterward, Lambo was seen smiling and running off the field with Janikowski. Coach Mike McCoy said Lambo apologized to teammates and coaches later, and the second-year kicker admitted it was "a bad look."
However, he felt "the work day was over" and said he was talking to a player who is "a rock star" among kickers.
"He said something funny and when Sebastian Janikowski says something funny to you, you laugh," Lambo told reporters Tuesday, calling Janikowski "a growing friend".
The Chargers, who host the Super Bowl champion Denver Broncos on Thursday, will have a new holder for placements, although Kaser will continue to punt. McCoy wouldn't say whom the new holder will be, but it's expected to be backup quarterback Kellen Clemens.
