Charles Woodson: A Football Life will air on December 9th
The storied career of Charles Woodson will be shared via the NFL Network’s successful documentary series, A Football Life.
The GOAT, Mr. First Ballot, The best to ever do it — Charles Woodson: A Football Life is coming to NFL Network.
Woodson, who rose to prominence as the first and only primarily defensive player to win the Heisman Trophy while at Michigan — went on to become the fourth overall pick of the Oakland Raiders in the 1998 NFL Draft. He enjoyed a wildly successful 18-year career, and has a bust in Canton waiting for him the second he becomes eligible.
The illustrious career of No. 24 includes nine Pro Bowls, and he was also named as a first-team All-Pro three times. The legendary defensive back led the NFL in interceptions twice — in 2009 and 2011 — and finished his career with 65 total interceptions. He also recorded 20 sacks, 28 forced fumbles and 13 defensive touchdowns over the course of his career.
Woodson’s accolades include Defensive Rookie of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year — 2009, while with the Packers — and one Super Bowl victory, also with Green Bay.
11 of his 18 seasons in the NFL were with the Raiders, which spanned over two separate stints. He returned to the team in 2013, and gave the franchise that drafted him three more years of quality play. Especially in his final season, it felt like Charles had found the fountain of youth, thanks to multiple acrobatic interceptions.
Below is a 90-second trailer.
