Chiefs injuries: Dontari Poe remains out
The Kansas City Chiefs are without Dontari Poe at practice, but they continue to see Dee Ford and Jeremy Maclin on the field.
Kansas City is starting to get healthier, and just at the right time. Yesterday, the Chiefs welcomed back outside linebacker Dee Ford and wide receiver Jeremy Maclin. Maclin had not been on the field in almost a month with a bad groin, but is finally on the road to recovery.
In addition, Derrick Johnson and Justin Houston were able to log full practices. On Thursday, head coach Andy Reid announced that Dontari Poe and Kendall Reyes will not practice as they work through their respective injuries, although Poe could be back for Sunday considering he’s dealing with back spasms.
There is also an interesting case with Jaye Howard. Howard has missed the last month with a hip issue. For Thursday, there are conflicting reports on whether Howard is practicing. B.J. Kissel of Chiefs.com says he will be, while Terez Paylor of the Kansas City Star reports he is not. We’ll find out when the official injury report is released this afternoon.
Jaye Howard will practice today for the #Chiefs.

The best news is that nobody slid backwards. Maclin and Ford will be on the field again, although we aren’t sure if they are limited again or this time, a full go. With the Atlanta Falcons coming up on Sunday, the Chiefs are hoping to get everyone imaginable back on the field. However, with another game coming on Thursday against the Oakland Raiders, Reid might have to weigh how quickly he puts Ford, Maclin and others back on the field.
