Chris Ivory issues statement on 'emergency medical condition' that hospitalized him

Published Nov. 15, 2016 2:15 p.m. ET

Just before Sunday’s season opener, the Jacksonville Jaguars announced that running back Chris Ivory would be inactive. He had been hospitalized with a “general medical issue” unexpectedly after previously being questionable with a calf injury.

The team did not disclose what the issue was exactly, but Ivory appears to be OK as he returned to the team Thursday.

He issued a statement on his condition, via the Jaguars.

Ivory was a non-participant at practice on Thursday, which means he’s not likely to play on Sunday. If he’s unable to go, T.J. Yeldon will likely take his place once again in the starting lineup.

Last season with the Jets, Ivory rushed for a career-high 1,070 yards and seven touchdowns in 15 games.
