Chris Thompson to have surgery on his left shoulder

Published Jan. 27, 2016 11:57 a.m. ET

Washington Redskins' running back Chris Thompson suffered a torn labrum in his left shoulder in Week 13, and now it's time to get that fixed.

According to Anthony Gulizia of The Washington Times, Thompson will undergo an arthroscopic procedure to repair the torn shoulder.

The injury, sustained against the Dallas Cowboys, cost Thompson two games, but he toughed it out for the Redskins' final three games, including their NFC Wild Card matchup against the Green Bay Packers.

Thompson finished his season with 240 yards receiving, 216 yards rushing and two touchdowns, all career highs.

Thompson becomes an exclusive-rights free agent this offseason.
