Colts facing decisions on 12 free agents

Published Jan. 11, 2016 1:02 p.m. ET

As the Indianapolis Colts look to rebound from a disappointing 2015, the team enters the offseason with 12 players headed for free agency, including tight ends Coby Fleener and Dwayne Allen.

Fleener and Allen headline the list of Indianapolis players who will hit the open marked March. Joining them are backup quarterbacks Matt Hasselbeck and Charlie Whitehurst, kicker Adam Vinatieri, safeties Dwight Lowery and Colts Anderson, offensive lineman Lance Louis, cornerback Greg Toler, inside linebacker Jerrell Freeman, defensive end Billy Winn and running back Ahmad Bradshaw.

Hasselbeck, who started six games in place of the injured Andrew Luck, may not return for an 18th season. If he elects to retire or the Colts decide to move on, the team will be in the marked for a proven backup.

Vinatieri, the NFL's oldest kicker at 43, figures to return for a 21st season.

Fleener caught 54 passes for 491 yards and three touchdowns in 2015, while Allen caught 16 passes for 109 yards a a touchdown. With the Colts hoping to sign Luck to  what will undoubtedly be a huge contract extension this offseason, the team's ability to sign both tight ends, as well as other free agents, may be limited.

Free agency begins March 9.
