Colts look to 'next man up' to fill in for injured DE Anderson

Published Nov. 10, 2015 11:58 a.m. ET

With Indianapolis defensive end Henry Anderson out for the year after suffering a knee injury in the Colts' win over the Denver Broncos on Sunday, head coach Chuck Pagano said he's confident the team has enough talent at the position to fill the void.

A 2015 third-round pick, Anderson had 31 tackles and a sack in nine starts before being injured.

"It’s next man up, between Billy (Winn), T.Y. (McGill) and Zach (Kerr),” Pagano said, per ESPN. “There are three guys that are more than capable and they’ve got to fill that role now. They’ve got to play winning football, they just can’t come in and be a body in there. All those guys have ability, they love football and they can play. They can play at a high level. They’ve gone in and made plays before.”

Winn, who has 11 tackles, was acquired from the Cleveland Browns in September for a 2017 draft pick. Kerr has 10 tackles on the year, while McGill has three.
