The Minnesota Vikings are looking to end a four game losing streak when they face the Arizona Cardinals. So far, it looks like they might end it. They have already scored a touchdown on a pick-six in the end zone, so Cordarrelle Patterson decided to join the fun. Patterson took a kickoff 104 yards to give Minnesota a 26-17 lead.

It seems he has finally turned the table. The 2013 first round pick out of Tennessee is on pace to set career highs in receiving yards. Patterson has 256 receiving yards and two touchdowns this season. He has found a niche in the return game, where he has been a deadly playmaker. His return against the Cardinals is his first touchdown return of the 2016 season and the fifth of his career. Patterson has returned 14 kickoffs this year entering Sunday’s game against Arizona.

He shows off his speed in this one, breaking away from the Cardinals defense and not even getting touched in the process. Minnesota’s special teams deserves some credit as they did a great job blocking and giving Patterson holes to run through. These are the kind of plays the Vikings have been hoping to see from him.

Patterson has 1,119 receiving yards in his career entering Sunday. He hasn’t panned out as a receiver, but he is an undeniable threat on returns. If you can be a good returner in today’s NFL, you’ll consistently have a job. Devin Hester has done pretty much nothing in his career other than return kicks and punts. Thanks to Patterson, it looks like the Vikings might finally end their losing streak.
