Could Miami put Ryan Tannehill on the trading block?

Another slow start.  Another close finish.  Is quarterback Ryan Tannehill to blame, and does another week of it put him on the trading block?

For the third week in a row the Miami Dolphins offense has started, for a lack of better terms, horrible.  So horrible in fact that Tannehill’s first drop back was such an easy read that cornerback Jamar Taylor jumped the route and intercepted the pass.

Yeah, that Jamar Taylor.  You know, the one Dolphins fans resented and Miami’s staff didn’t trust.  He was shipped to the Cleveland Browns this past offseason.

To be fair the first half has been brutal for both Tannehill and the whole offense.  It’s not all on the quarterback position.  However, as the leader on the field Tannehill continues to show no traits in taking over.

At $96 million dollars, it’s a requirement for the quarterback to possess those traits.  The ability to take command of the offense after a week of preparation.  The ability to be “that guy”.

As outsiders looking in it’s tough to dissect exactly what Miami’s missing.  The talent is there for Tannehill to succeed; the talent has been there the past couple of season.

We can pass blame to the offensive line and rightfully so.  However, fans can’t excuse the situation they’re forced to watch every week of the season.

So what direction does Miami go if the issue continues to arise?  Head coach Adam Gase was brought in to better Tannehill but the same problems we’ve seen in the past continue to arise.

You can only believe in a player for so long before you have to move on.  Mediocrity doesn’t win games.  It won’t bring a Super Bowl to the city of Miami.

As a fan I’d rather see Gase wheel a deal to bring in a quarterback that he can work with.  Tannehill has value somewhere throughout the league.  That value doesn’t have to be in Miami.

Another slow start this Thursday night can’t happen.  1-3 can’t happen.  If it does, however, it’s time to look past Tannehill for better options moving forward.
