Cowboys' Randy Gregory suspended four games for substance abuse violation
Randy Gregory has apparently messed up again.
The Dallas Cowboys defensive end — who slipped to the second round of the 2015 NFL Draft after testing positive for marijuana at the NFL Combine — has been suspended for the first four games of the 2016 season.
Gregory's suspension without pay comes for a violation of the league's substance-abuse policy.
The league also announced two other suspensions on Friday. Baltimore Ravens tight end Nick Boyle was suspended 10 games for a performance-enhancing drug violation, while Green Bay Packers defensive tackle Mike Pennell was dinged four games for a substance-abuse violation.
All three players will be eligible to participate in all offseason practices and preseason games.
Gregory's rookie season didn't start off as smoothly as hoped, as he got hurt in the regular-season opener and didn't return until Week 7. He finished the season with 11 total tackles and zero sacks.
