Dak Prescott throws a dime to Dez Bryant (Video)

Dak Prescott is proving to be as good as advertised, but Dez Bryant can’t stay away from the catch or no catch controversy.

Besides Dan Bailey, the best offensive player for the Dallas Cowboys against the New York Giants has been Dak Prescott. The rookie quarterback has been cool under pressure, and has started the game 14 for 19. The Cowboys need him to be this good every week so that they don’t have to resort to using Mark Sanchez.

One of those incompletions was significant, though. With the Cowboys trailing 7-6, Prescott found Dez Bryant in the end zone. He only had one catch up to that point, and it looked like he had given them the lead. But once again, Dez found himself in the middle of a catch or no catch controversy:

While obviously not as significant as his non-catch against the Green Bay Packers, Bryant certainly must’ve had a sense of deja vu. With Landon Collins draped around him, the refs ruled that Dez didn’t truly have full possession of the ball until he was out of bounds. The Cowboys still took the lead through a field goal, but those four missed points could come back to haunt them later.

Dez Bryant wants to make a better mark on the Cowboys than he did last year. He only finished with three receiving touchdowns, but that wasn’t because the refs called back all of his catches. He had trouble staying healthy, and the quarterback situation became a total dumpster fire when Tony Romo went down.

But with a quarterback-running back combination of Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott, the Cowboys are a young team with tremendous offensive potential. Even when Romo got hurt in the pre-season, they were prepared for it. And as long as Prescott keeps up his great play, Bryant should find the end zone again sooner rather than later.
