Dak Prescott hasn’t just been sensational on the field for the Dallas Cowboys – he’s been equally great off the gridiron.

Earlier this season, Prescott turned down tickets to Kanye West’s Saint Pablo Tour, opting to stay home to watch a blowout between the Patriots and Texans, as well as catch up on some sleep. It’s decisions like that one which separate franchise quarterbacks from those not completely committed, and Prescott has showed that dedication time and time again.

Just this week, he decided to turn down a late-night television appearance and endorsement deals overseas. What did he choose over those opportunities? Spending time with family in Louisiana, namely his grandma.

“It’s football and family,” Prescott said, via the Star-Telegram. “That’s what I focus on. If I have time to get away and spend time with my family that I’m not going to get to do for a while, that I haven’t done for a while. I’m going to take advantage of it. It’s more important to me to spend time with my family than go with those deals.”

So what exactly were those other opportunities he was presented with?

“One of them was a late-night show with somebody. Another one was out of country and that was definitely no,” he said. “Those deals will be there. If they really want it bad enough, they will find a way.”

Prescott also said he’ll do some fishing at home in Louisiana, which is hard to in Dallas with all the work he’s putting in for the Cowboys. While many players will take a mini-vacations to Miami and Vegas, Prescott would rather head east to spend time with family.

“I want to go home and be away,” Prescott said. “I got all the time in the world to do that to go to Vegas or Miami. I can do that in the offseason. I’ve got one weekend during this long strenuous period. I’m going to go get off my feet.”
