Dallas Cowboys Dez Bryant owns Skip Bayless on Twitter

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant is the clear victor in a Twitter war with Fox Sports One commentator Skip Bayless.

The Dallas Cowboys have won their last two games. And they’ve done so without their All-Pro wide receiver,  Dez Bryant, in the lineup who suffered a knee injury in the Cowboys victory over the Chicago Bears in Week Three.

With two rookie players in quarterback Dak Prescott and running back Ezekiel Elliott leading the charge, the Cowboys have looked dominate even without one of the best players in the league in their receiver corps. Bryant’s anticipated return should only bolster their effectiveness moving forward.

One longtime sports columnist, media pundit and self-proclaimed Cowboys fan believes Bryant should use the fact Dallas has won without him as a learning tool. On Wednesday, Undisputed co-host Skip Bayless made the point on his Fox Sports One debate show that the Cowboys’ success no longer revolves around the talented receiver. And that the team would be better off without the “old” Bryant who has allegedly missed 20 to 40 meetings during his seven-year tenure in Dallas.

Obviously upset by Bayless’ words, Bryant took to Twitter to attack the self-proclaimed longtime Cowboys fan’s allegiance.

Bayless responded in kind, stating the fact he started attending Cowboys games 27 years before Bryant was even born.

But Bryant wisely allowed Bayless’ own words to destroy his argument. Dez pointed out a 2009 Tweet from Skip were he clearly admits he isn’t a Cowboys fan.

Game. Set. Match. Bryant. Bayless took to the air on his show Thursday to respond to Dez, but the damage had been done.

It seems all too rare when an athlete gets one over on a national media pundit like Bayless. But Bryant was able to turn Skip’s words against himself.

Still, Bryant would likely be better served ignoring the media entirely and simply focusing on getting healthy and helping his team win a Super Bowl. But the 27-year old receiver is a very passionate player and person. And it’s that passion that drives his success on the field. But it also fuels episodes like this one off of it.
