Dan Campbell prepared to face former Cowboys teammates this week

Dan Campbell is currently the youngest head coach in the NFL at 39 years old, which makes for an interesting storyline this week as the Dolphins take on the Cowboys.

Campbell played for the Cowboys from 2003 to 2005, so he's not only familiar with the organization, but he knows a couple of players still on the roster. Most notably, he played alongside Tony Romo and Jason Witten.

“I certainly know the head coach really well and I know those guys they have over there," Campbell said via Andrew Abramson of the Palm Beach Post. "I played with some of them -- Romo and Witten and those guys.”

Of course, Romo is slated to return this week against the Dolphins, his first game since breaking his collarbone in Week 2. It won't be the same Dallas team that's taken the field the past seven weeks, and Campbell knows they're in for a challenge.

“Certainly it makes them better,” Campbell said of Romo coming back. “I don’t know how much better, but I just know -- I know Romo. The guy can hurt you. We’ll see what kind of flow he’s in, how he feels. But absolutely he can hurt you. He can make those throws, he can work in the pocket, he can get out of the pocket.

“He’s got weapons to go to. He’s certainly somebody that we have to try to put some pressure on early. We have to try to get some hits on him and keep him bottled up in there.”

The Cowboys are reeling, losers of seven straight, but Romo's return erases the past for the most part. What's working in the Dolphins' favor is the way the defense played against the Eagles on Sunday.

Ndamukong Suh had his best game since joining the Dolphins, helping Miami hold Philadelphia to just 83 yards rushing and 19 points. Romo's arguably a better quarterback than Sam Bradford and Mark Sanchez, so it could be Dallas' aerial attack that gives the Dolphins fits.
