Denver Broncos: How Many Games Could Trevor Siemian Miss?
Trevor Siemian was still in a boot as of Friday. Foot sprain injuries can be a tricky thing to deal with, as well as analyze length of time missed. How many games could Trevor Siemian Miss?
Paxton Lynch will get the start Sunday against the Jaguars. Siemian will not dress, making Austin Davis the backup. Trevor is listed as day-to-day.
This coming off of Siemian’s best game of his career. Things got off to a slow start against the Chiefs. After that Trevor absolutely turned it loose. He was making amazing throws, running out of pressure, and making great reads. Take a look at these highlights:
Bad luck happened to Siemian after his previous best game as a passer. He looked great in the Bengals game, and got hurt quickly in the next game vs the Buccaneers. The nagging shoulder injury seemed to affect him for weeks after.
So what happens next for Siemian? Nobody really knows. I’ve personally had a severe foot sprain. I wasn’t able to even put pressure on it for at least a week. I felt discomfort in that foot for months after the injury. There are different degrees of sprains, so we really just don’t know.

What happens if Paxton Lynch comes out tomorrow and has 400 yards and 5 touchdowns? Does that mean they will just roll with Paxton down the stretch? I could see something like that happening. Maybe not those numbers, but I expect Lynch to play well. He could keep the job after that.
You also have to consider that like me, Siemian could have that foot bother him for an extended period of time. It’s no secret that Denver struggles to protect the passer. If he can’t escape the rush, he will be a liability to the team.
We’ll just have to wait and see what happens. This injury could have huge implications on the entire franchise, including Siemian himself. If Lynch becomes the long term answer and franchise quarterback, who knows where Trevor will be a year from now.
