Detroit Lions daredevil DeAndre Levy takes stunts to new heights

Most contracts in professional sports contain clauses outlining what activities players may not take part in outside of work, usually out of fear of injury.

For instance, Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford claims the team banned him from riding a motorcycle and skydiving when he signed his rookie deal.

Well, it appears Lions linebacker DeAndre Levy managed to slip one by the Detroit front office. Wing walking.

Seriously. Look:

The second-team All-Pro confirmed it was him, posting a couple of photos to his Instagram account Sunday . . . one of him right-side up in an "on top of the world" pose, and one, well, see for yourself:

According to ESPN, team president Tom Lewand offered a response to seeing Levy's stunts, apparently pulled off in the state of Washington. And his answer may surprise you.

"The official position is: Don't fall," Lewand told Michael Rothstein.

Lions coach Jim Caldwell told Rothstein:

"I think he was strapped in pretty well. As a matter of fact, I just saw the photo for the first time. He's that kind of individual. He's afraid of nothing.

"He takes some pretty exotic trips in the offseason and as long as he's coming back healthy, we're going to pray for him. He's an integral part of our team."

Doesn't sound like the Lions think Levy is violating any contract language. And speaking of contracts, the 28-year-old, six-year pro is in the final year of his deal. So maybe this isn't the wisest move in a contract year.

But as FOX Sports Detroit's Dave Dye points out, this is nothing new to the Lions' resident stunt man.
