Week 15 of the 2016 NFL season is already under way. This will feature the first of many Saturday games coming in the final three weeks. Christmas falling on a Sunday will do that to the NFL.

This week’s second game on the Week 15 slate will be between AFC East division rivals in the Miami Dolphins (8-5) and the New York Jets (4-9). Kickoff from MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford will be at 8:25 p.m. ET. The NFL Network will have the primetime telecast with NBC’s Mike Tirico and Doug Flutie in the booth.

Miami is fighting for playoff contention in the AFC at 8-5. The Dolphins have only division games left on the slate, but will likely have to go 2-1 the rest of the way to get to crucial 10-6 to get the No. 6 seed in the AFC. It doesn’t help that Miami will have to play without starting quarterback Ryan Tannehill who might be out for the year with a knee injury.

The Jets are terrible. They don’t know what they are doing at the quarterback position. Ryan Fitzpatrick has been benched in favor of an Air Raid college quarterback in Bryce Petty. Petty wasn’t terrible in Week 13’s overtime thriller against the San Francisco 49ers, but a bad performance against a playoff-hungry Dolphins team could see rookie Christian Hackenberg start in Weeks 16 and 17. Yikes!

New York’s Week 16 game road game is absolutely brutal. It’s in the division at its against the New England Patriots in Foxborough. The Jets’ only hope for victory in that game is if Bill Belichick rests players after New England clinches home-field advantage in the AFC. Kickoff from Gillette Stadium in Foxborough will be at 1:00 p.m. ET on Christmas Eve, Saturday, Dec. 24. CBS will carry the game.
