Dolphins hope to add difference-maker on final day of draft
DAVIE, Fla. (AP) Now that the Miami Dolphins have addressed their biggest needs in the draft, they'll try to hit on a long shot on the final day of picks.
Miami went into the second day of selections Friday needing a cornerback and running back, and landed both. In the second round the Dolphins took cornerback Xavien Howard of Baylor, and in the third they drafted running back Kenyan Drake of Alabama.
They also traded with Minnesota to move into the late third round and select receiver Leonte Carroo of Rutgers.
But after seven consecutive years out of the playoffs, the Dolphins have plenty of holes in their roster and would love to plug a couple in the late rounds. Linebacker is the area most likely to be addressed on the final day.
