Dolphins trade CB Will Davis to Ravens for seventh-round pick
The Miami Dolphins have been shopping cornerback Will Davis for some time now, and they finally found a trade partner on Monday.
The Dolphins traded Davis to the Baltimore Ravens for a seventh-round pick in 2016.
Davis, a former third-round pick in 2013, was inactive for the Dolphins' first two games and was the team's sixth cornerback on the depth chart. He played in 15 games from 2013 to 2014, recording 25 tackles and two passes defensed in two seasons.
Unlike the Dolphins, the Ravens lack depth at cornerback, which is what led them to trading for Davis. He pulled down two interceptions in the Dolphins' final preseason game as he earned himself a spot on the 53-man roster. Through two games, however, Davis has been beat out by Zack Bowman and Bobby McCain on the active roster given their contributions on special teams.
With a slew of injuries suffered in Sunday's game, the Dolphins may use the roster spot to add a guy at a position of need. Branden Albert, Cameron Wake, Jordan Cameron, and Lamar Miller all suffered injuries in Week 2, leaving question marks at several positions.
