Doug Baldwin says Seahawks shouldn't give out Marshawn Lynch's No. 24
He's been retired for less than three months, but Doug Baldwin believes no Seattle Seahawks player should ever wear Marshawn Lynch's No. 24.
Baldwin took to Twitter to express what he believes the players want, which is for Lynch's number to stay out of the hands of any other Seahawk.
Dear @PeteCarroll,
— Doug Baldwin Jr (@DougBaldwinJr) April 30, 2016
We are thrilled with the new teammates. One condition. Nobody wears #24 for years to come.
Sincerely,
The Players
Lynch, who played his final 5 1/2 seasons with the Seahawks, was one of the most feared running backs in the league for his bruising rushing style. He led the league in rushing touchdowns in 2013 and 2014 and helped the Seahawks to their first Super Bowl title.
The impact Lynch had on the locker room is undeniable after reading Baldwin's message. With Pete Carroll being such a players' coach, he probably will respect their wishes.
