Doug Martin says he believes he can top what he did in 2012
Doug Martin is getting the ball rolling offensively for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. One could even say that he looks like the same player we saw back in his rookie year in 2012. During that season, Martin rushed for 1,454 yards and 11 touchdowns, while also catching 49 balls for 472 yards and an additional score.
While Martin had a stellar rookie season, he believes he can top what he did during that season, according to Andrew Astleford of ESPN.
"I believe I can," Martin told ESPN Wednesday. "I'm definitely not at my limit. I could definitely get better. I know what I can do to get better. Every day I try to get better."
As Astleford points out, Martin is tied for second with the most rushing yards in the NFL, just 33 behind Matt Forte. While Martin and the Buccaneers get this week off, expect them to hit the ground running when they return against the Washington Redskins in Week 7.
