Eagles RB Murray sits out practice; status in question for Jets

Philadelphia Eagles running back DeMarco Murray did not practice Thursday, putting his status in question for Sunday's game at the New York Jets.

Murray left Wednesday's practice with a hamstring injury and was scheduled to undergo an MRI exam - the results of which have not been disclosed.

Eagles coach Chip Kelly told reporters Thursday that the absence of Murray would not change the team's game plan against the Jets, who are surrendering a league-low 8.5 points per game.

Murray and the running game have been invisible in Philadelphia's two losses. Murray has rushed for only 11 yards on 21 carries after leading the NFL with 1,845 last season with the Dallas Cowboys.

If Murray is unable to go Sunday, Ryan Mathews and Darren Sproles will likely share time in the backfield. Mathews, another offseason free-agent signing, has only four carries for four yards while Sproles has rushed for a team-high 46 yards to go with 11 receptions for 99 yards.
