Eagles: Things you may have missed volume 9 (Carson Wentz on Gruden's QB Camp)
Before he was the second pick in the 2016 NFL Draft or the starting quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles, Carson Wentz was a hot young prospect and a guest on Gruden’s QB Camp.
This Carson Wentz guy is pretty interesting to talk about. There’s no denying that. Whether you’re excited about the Philadelphia Eagles or you believe they have no shot in 2016, you have to admit that you’re emotionally tied in. There’s nothing wrong with that at all. You’re a fan. It would actually be more of a concern if you didn’t care one way or the other.
Throughout the draft process, the preseason and, most recently, in the last week, we’ve heard about how smart Wentz is. We’ve heard how much time he spends in the film room and how intelligent he is. Then there’s the constant talk of how dedicated he is in the film room.
For seven seasons, ESPN has aired the widely popular Gruden’s QB Camp where, each year, some of the top quarterbacks entering the NFL Draft stop by to visit with Jon Gruden, and the former NFL head coach takes them through the paces as guest have shown their potential in both classroom settings and in on-field drills.
This past season, Wentz stopped by and spoke about everything from his alma-mater to how he handles failure. Take a look:
We hear about all these aspects of his development, but that just gave you a little taste of it. Are you starting to like this guy yet? It’s easy to for that to be the case. Now, let’s just hope he’s just as good in the game when everything counts. We aren’t going to have to wait too much longer.
