Eagles to sign quarterback Chase Daniel as Sam Bradford's backup
The Philadelphia Eagles now have a backup plan if quarterback Sam Bradford doesn't work out.
The Eagles agreed to terms with free-agent quarterback Chase Daniel Wednesday, as first reported by ESPN and confirmed by FS1 NFL Insider Mike Garafolo.
Yup. It's a backup/maybe starter deal. Bradford will have to keep him out of that starting role. Pederson loves him. https://t.co/owbH2FsDDM

The two sides agreed to a three-year, $21 million deal, with $12 million in guaranteed money.
Daniel, 29, will likely serve as the backup to Bradford, who has been plagued with injury issues throughout most of his NFL career. Since being drafted No. 1 overall by the St. Louis Rams in 2010, Bradford has only started 16 games twice, his rookie year, and most recently in 2014.
Daniel spent the last three seasons in Kansas City, where he backed up starter Alex Smith and played under new Eagles coach Doug Pederson, who served as Chiefs offensive coordinator from 2013-15. In his only two NFL starts, both with KC, Daniel went 43-of-68 for 409 yards with a touchdown and an interception.
