Ellington among three players ruled out Thursday for Cardinals
Arizona Cardinals' running back Andre Ellington is among three players who have been ruled out for Thursday night's game against the visiting Minnesota Vikings.
Ellington will sit out his second straight game due to turf toe while starting cornerback will miss his second in a row with a calf strain. Defensive tackle Frostee Rucker (ankle) will be sidelined for his third straight game but fellow lineman Cory Redding is expected to return.
Tight end Jermaine Greshman (knee) did not practice all week and is listed as doubtful, but Cardinals coach Bruce Arians said he and safety Tony Jefferson (hamstring) will test their injuries Thursday.
The absence of Ellington, who was injured in the same game as leading rusher Chris Johnson, assures that rookie David Johnson will receive his second consecutive start. Justin Bethel will make his second start in a row in place of Powers.
Arizona can clinch a playoff berth with a victory over the Vikings. The Cardinals can also win the NFC West title with a win and a loss by Seattle to Baltimore on Sunday.
Ellington, Rucker, Powers are out for #MINvsAZ. Redding should play. Gresham game-day decision.
