Falcons may look for running back on 2nd day of NFL draft
FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. (AP) The Atlanta Falcons may try to address a glaring need at running back in the second and third rounds of the NFL draft.
Running back is a priority after 2014 starter Steven Jackson was released and backup Jacquizz Rodgers signed with the Bears. The Falcons may also look for another tight end even after signing veterans Jacob Tamme and Tony Moeaki.
The Falcons found the edge rusher they needed by selecting defensive end Vic Beasley in the first round.
Beasley, Clemson's career sacks leader, should boost a pass rush that has ranked near the bottom of the NFL the last two seasons. General manager Thomas Dimitroff also may look for more defensive help for new coach Dan Quinn.
