Falcons rule out Julio Jones vs. the Rams

The Atlanta Falcons will be without their best player on Sunday against the Rams. The team has officially ruled out Julio Jones due to turf toe.

Jones was questionable all week due to the injury and was expected to be a game-time decision. He wasn’t going to play if he couldn’t push off on his foot, which he was likely unable to do in warmups.

With Mohamed Sanu (groin) also out, the Falcons will be especially thin at wide receiver. Taylor Gabriel has played well in recent weeks, but he’s far from a go-to target for Matt Ryan.

Devonta Freeman figures to see a heavy workload as the Falcons will be forced to lean on the run.
