Fantasy Football: Can Adrian Peterson help your title run?

The Minnesota Vikings are hopeful that Adrian Peterson can help revive one of the worst run games in the NFL. Fantasy owners are hoping he comes back, too…

Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson is a truly legendary player at his position, and his ability to quickly recover from serious injuries is equally historic.

It’s been reported by the NFL Network that Peterson could return for a December playoff run with the Vikes, and it was recently reported that he’s been doing sprints off to the side of Vikings practice.

These are good things.

Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer classified Peterson as ‘ahead of schedule’ and why should any of us be surprised about that? This is Adrian Peterson we’re talking about.

Peterson wasn’t looking like himself when the 2016 season began, but that could have been a number of different factors. One factor that hasn’t really changed much at all is the fact that the Vikings still have a bad offensive line, but is Peterson worthy of a flyer in your fantasy football league?

If you’re in position to make a playoff run, you can snipe him right now and shock all of your fantasy mates in the process.

“Why is Joe picking up Adrian Peterson, doesn’t he know he’s injured?”

You can have the last laugh, Joe.

Picking up Adrian Peterson right now is a low risk, high reward proposition. This is a guy that was likely a first round/top five selection in your fantasy draft, and if there’s any possibility he returns as Adrian Peterson, well…

    You do the math.

I know I have picked up Peterson in a couple of leagues, including the one in which I’m most competitive right now. There’s a shortage of running back options, including both of Peterson’s replacements with the Vikings being disappointments this year. This is a savvy veteran fantasy move and one that could pay huge dividends.
