Fantasy Football Start or Sit Week 15: WR Quincy Enunwa

Updated Mar. 4, 2020 1:25 p.m. ET

Heading into Week 15 Fantasy Football, wide receiver Quincy Enunwa isn’t worth starting due to a new quarterback under center and well, his severe drop in production.

Make no mistake about it, the overall offense of the New York Jets leaves much to the imagination. They’re one of the most inconsistent in the NFL and can’t seem to score touchdowns when in favorable situations. It was so bad, the Jets had to make a permanent change at quarterback from Ryan Fitzpatrick to Bryce Petty and so far, the results have been decent. It’s not enough for fantasy football owners, however, to consider starting members of the Jets in the most important week of the season.

Yes, the Jets won last week but it took them taking the San Francisco 49ers into overtime to leave their Week 14 matchup victorious. Petty won and did just enough to win but again, the transition from Fitzpatrick to Petty takes time for it to sync up to other members on offense.

Such is the case with wide receiver Quincy Enunwa. Not only has Enunwa’s stats dropped severely the past few weeks, but Petty has his go-to target in wide receiver Robby Anderson. It’s nothing against Enunwa but considering that Petty has worked with Anderson extensively throughout the season in practice reps, that synergy is obviously going to be there more so than with Enunwa.

Heading into Week 15, the Jets are set to face the Miami Dolphins and if they’re to win, it’ll be thanks to their ground game for the most part. Fantasy owners shouldn’t risk starting Enunwa this week since it might be better to use another viable wide receiver or even go with Anderson instead.

As the season is coming to an end, the Jets, officially eliminated from making the NFL Playoffs, will be starting most of their younger players to audition for the future. It’s a situation that doesn’t bode well for fantasy owners since there is no guarantee Enunwa will even get more than 5-8 reps tops against the Dolphins.

Overall, fantasy football owners should sit Enunwa this week. It’s not worth risking considering this is the first week of the postseason in most leagues. Hit the waiver wire for another option since Enunwa won’t do much of anything this week.
