Fantasy Football Start or Sit Week 7: QB Geno Smith
Heading into Fantasy Football Week 7, quarterback Geno Smith returns to being a starter again with the New York Jets but don’t expect anything great to happen.
Desperation is in the air these days when it comes to the New York Jets. It’s so bad over in the city that never sleeps, the Jets had no other choice but to demote quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick in favor for Geno Smith. That’s right, the same quarterback that has 36 interceptions so far in his NFL career. What should fantasy football owners expect out of Smith in Week 7 against the Baltimore Ravens?

The overall offense of the Jets is terrible and even though they made a big quarterback change, it’s going to take time for Smith to get acclimated to being a starter again.
While the Ravens have a lot of work to fix across their team as well, they should be able to contain Smith and make his return to being a starter possibly a nightmare.
If Smith returns to his usual turnover-prone self, it’s going to not only be a continued disaster for the Jets but fantasy owners as well.
That’s why it’s best that fantasy owners sit Smith this week and don’t hold hope that picking him up over the waiver wire is some magical sleeper pick.
Overall, Smith might turn things around but with no effective ground game or high quality receiving targets besides Brandon Marshall, he’ll more than likely be in for a long afternoon against the Ravens.
