Heading into Fantasy Football Week 2, if you’re in a bind at tight end, seek out your waiver wire for tight end Jack Doyle of the Indianapolis Colts. Chances are he is there for the taking.
Are you a worried Coby Fleener owner after his no-show in Week 1 fantasy football? Nervous about Zach Ertz missing more time than just next Monday night? Fear not, as this is where you show signs of being a great fantasy owner by making a bold move and adding tight end Jack Doyle to your team.
Doyle only has 38 career receptions, five in which went for touchdowns, in four seasons out of Western Kentucky. However, he is off to a great 2016 having reeled in three receptions on 4 targets for 35 yards. Oh, and two of those grabs went for touchdowns.
Standing at 6’6″, Doyle is a big target in a pass-heavy offense. QB Andrew Luck also has Dwyane Allen, who is a TE1 in most leagues, which surely affects Doyle’s rate of play. Allen played 49 of 70 snaps against the Detroit Lions, Doyle ten behind at 39. Look for him to become a viable option if Allen is ever covered closely.

It’s no secret that the Colts’ defense is lackluster in most facets, therefore most weeks they will be trailing, or find themselves in shootouts.
Week 2 doesn’t do the team any favors with a match-up in Denver against the Broncos.
Luck is going to look to spread the ball out, and Doyle should expect to see more targets.
Over the years Indy has opted to line up in two tight end sets. He has potential to ‘vulture’ red zone touchdowns [away from Allen] and even midfield targets.
Reviewing popular fantasy platforms such as Yahoo!, ESPN and NFL.com, Doyle is owned only in 1%, and 0.1% of leagues, respectively. If you are willing to go bold, he could have that under the radar payoff your team deserves.
