According to Director of NFC communications Randall Liu, Cox was named the NFC Defensive Player of the Week for the first time in his four-year NFL career.

Cox was a man amongst boys in Week 5, delivering three sacks, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery in Philadelphia’s 39-17 win over the Saints. He became the first player to produce such a stat line since the 2007 season.
The Eagles had not received a defensive player of the week award since Kirk Coleman in 2011.
Cox’s three sacks were the most by a Philadelphia defender since Connor Barwin tallied 3.5 last November. He’s one of only four Eagles to produce three sacks in a game since 2007 (Barwin, Trent Cole, Jason Babin).
