Former Jaguar Henderson thinks team ready to win

John Henderson spent eight seasons as a member of the Jacksonville Jaguars, helping the team reach the playoffs in 2005 and 2007. While the current edition of the Jaguars may not quite be a playoff team, the former defensive tackle says he thinks the team is much improved from last season's 3-13 record. The Jaguars added a series of new faces in free agency, including tight end Julius Thomas, defensive lineman Jared Odrick, and offensive tackle Jermey Parnell.

"(They're) ready to get out there, ready to go and win some games and bring this city some wins," Henderson said, via First Coast News. ""I'm excited about this year, it's been a great offseason with the guys they've brought in and I don't know them all, but they look like they are going to help us out this year."

Henderson, who the Jaguars selected with the No. 9 overall pick in 2002 out of the University of Tennessee, went to two Pro Bowls during his time in Jacksonville. He said he's been particularly impressed with the Jaguars current group of defensive linemen.

"(They've) been great," said Henderson. "I've just been watching them, (they're) great guys. I've met a couple of them, (they're really) positive guys."
