Former Steeler Jeff Reed ejected from of Hall of Fame game

Updated Mar. 4, 2020 1:14 p.m. ET

It wasn't a good night for Steelers kickers at Sunday's Hall of Fame game. Shaun Suisham may have torn his ACL, and the man he replaced in 2010 was escorted out of the stadium as a spectator.

Jeff Reed, who spent nine seasons in Pittsburgh, was reportedly removed by authorities for being intoxicated and getting into a confrontation with another fan, according to Dale Lolley of the Observer-Reporter

UPDATE: Reed offered his version of Sunday night's events via his Facebook page, claiming that he left the stadium voluntarily due to a combative fan. (via Paul Zeise of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette).

Reed has a history of issues with public intoxication and disorderly conduct. He was cited in 2009 for disorderly conduct and criminal mischief for reportedly destroying a paper towel holder at a convenience store. Eight months later, he cited for refusing to comply with police for a public urination incident.

Reed has been out of the league since 2011, when he was released by the Seahawks prior to the start of the season.
