Fred Jackson details reasoning behind choosing Seahawks over Patriots

Fred Jackson didn't have to think twice about joining the Seahawks over the Patriots.

Seattle wanted him more, Jackson would have a defined role and he could reunite with former teammate Marshawn Lynch.

"What Seattle said was, 'We want you to be a part of this team. We want you to contribute. We know what you can do, and we're excited about it.' They wanted to put me on a flight that night," Jackson said, via Buffalo News.

With Robert Turbin dealing with a high-ankle sprain and the team recently trading Christine Michael to the Cowboys, Jackson is unquestionably the No. 2 back behind Lynch.

Even when Turbin returns, it's more than likely Jackson holds onto that spot.

Heading into 2015, the Seahawks gained a reliable pass-catcher out of the backfield and a steady veteran to spell Lynch from time to time.

Now they boast a dangerous combo at running back, something that has been lacking the last couple years.
