Has the Super Bowl ever gone to overtime?

Updated Mar. 4, 2020 4:26 p.m. ET

No Super Bowl has ever gone into overtime.

The overtime period is a 15-minute session in which both teams get three timeouts each.

If the game is tied after that first overtime session, they will play as many 15-minute periods until one of them scores.
