J.J. Watt was awesome on 'Hard Knocks,' dominated practice

The moment it was announced that the Houston Texans would be featured on the latest season of HBO’s “Hard Knocks,” we all knew who the star of the show would be. And that man has not disappointed.

A behind-the-scenes look at J.J. Watt is exactly what we all anticipated it would be — pure fiery competitiveness and an unstoppable force on the practice field. Tuesday night’s episode of “Hard Knocks” began with an awesome pep talk from Watt that was filled with F-bombs. Beware of NSFW language, obviously.

Watt’s opening line of the speech summarized the basic message.

“The philosophy of this f—ing squad is off the field we’re good-ass dudes. We’re nice f—ing guys, we do the right thing. When you step on the field you’re the baddest f—er on the planet. And, together, we’re the baddest f—ing team on the planet.”

For those teammates who didn’t understand what Watt meant, he showed them on the field by consistently blowing through the offensive line and getting to the quarterback.

The best moment of the night came when Watt was resting on the sidelines and Texans coach Bill O’Brien told him to get back into the game on second-and-goal from the 2-yard line. O’Brien obviously wanted his offense to face the best, and what do you think happened? Watt got into the backfield, lit up running back Alfred Blue and forced a fumble.

Is this guy unbelievable or what? Fortunately, we have some good news for the Texans offense — you won’t face a better defensive player all year than the one you go up against in practice. Once Week 1 arrives, Watt will refocus his attention toward abusing helpless opponents like this.
