Jadeveon Clowney 'on target' to return to Texans, but won't be rushed
Houston Texans head coach Bill O'Brien said before the start of training camp the team expected second-year linebacker Jadeveon Clowney to return to practice Aug. 17.
With that day less than a week away, O'Brien said Tuesday it all depends on Clowney's knee
“Yeah, look, August 17 is the day that I think our medical team has talked to him about, but, again, with JD, it’s if he feels ready to go on that day,” O’Brien said, via John McClain of the Houston Chronicle. “(If) his knee feels good, then he’ll go. We’re not going to rush him back. We feel like that’s a good date for him, so, yeah, we’re on target for that. Hopefully, he’ll get out here and be able to do something that day.”
Clowney is currently on the physically unable to perform list as he works his way back from microfracture surgery.
The first overall pick in the 2014 draft, appeared in just four games as rookie before undergoing surgery on his knee.
