Jags owner gives vote of confidence to Gus Bradley, GM Caldwell
As the Jaguars head to London this week, owner Shad Khan said he continues to be comfortable with the direction of the team despite a 1-5 start to the season.
Khan told NFL.com he remains a believer in head coach Gus Bradley and general manager Dave Caldwell. Jacksonville is 8-30 since the pair were hired in 2013, but the team can point to a number of positives, including a young offensive core led by quarterback Blake Bortles, the third overall pick in the 2014.
"I think if you look at metrics, Blake is a second-year quarterback and I think he's doing much better, quite frankly," Khan said. "I think there is a lot of work to do, and Gus and Dave Caldwell have done a lot of heavy lifting. We're to the stage now where we'll be seeing some of the results.
"I'm very, very optimistic and believe in what they are doing. It's frustrating and maddening at times, but if you know football, regrettably it's the right thing to do."
The Jaguars will look for their second win Sunday against the Bills.
