Jaguars CB Colvin: 2016 'going to be a bright season for us'

Published Jan. 5, 2016 12:18 a.m. ET

Despite a disappointing 5-11 season capped off by a 30-6 loss to the Houston Texans on Sunday, Jacksonville Jaguars cornerback Aaron Colvin is bullish on the team's chances next season.

Colvin, who finished his second season in Jacksonville with 74 tackles, 4.0 sacks seven passes defensed and one forced fumble, said the team is poised to make a major leap in 2016.

"It’s going to be a bright season for us (next season),” Colvin said, via the team's official website. “I can feel the energy of this team. No matter what the outside may see or whatever they may think, we know what’s going to happen. When it comes, it’s going to come fast.”

Middle linebacker Paul Posluszny agreed, saying the presence of quarterback Blake Bortles along with a pair of 1,000-yard receivers in Allen Robinson and Allen Hurns give the Jaguars the building blocks for a turnaround.

"We have a really good quarterback who’s only going to continue to get better," Posluszny said. "We have elite receivers. Defensively, we have to take care of our job and do our part, but there’s no doubt in my mind we have the people in place and the proper leadership in Coach (Gus) Bradley to take this organization to where it wants to go.”
