Jaguars give an update on Jalen Ramsey's health ahead of training camp

The Jacksonville Jaguars were given a huge scare for the second straight offseason in May when first-round pick Jalen Ramsey underwent knee surgery to repair a tear of his meniscus. He suffered the injury during the team's offseason conditioning program and was initially questionable for the start of training camp.

Ramsey, who was seen running last month, has healed extremely quickly and is on track to be on the field for camp. More importantly, he'll be a full go when camp opens Thursday. That's what Jaguars general manager Dave Caldwell told reporters on Monday.

The Jaguars couldn't have gotten better news on their prized rookie as he'll miss no significant time leading up to his first season in the NFL. Ramsey is super talented and an uber-athletic defensive back, which is why he would have been fine with limited work in training camp, but the more practice the better.

He'll be a huge part of the Jaguars' revamped defense, which now features the likes of Prince Amukamara, Myles Jack, Dante Fowler and Tashaun Gipson, to go along with their returning studs.

The Jaguars are undoubtedly a team to watch this season as their loaded with young talent on both sides of the ball. Additionally, both Ramsey and Jack are considered among the favorites to win Defensive Player of the Year.
