Jaguars RB Denard Robinson: 'I want to take the hit to them'
After running over Indianapolis Colts linebacker Bjoern Werner in Sunday's 51-16 win, Jacksonville Jaguars running back Denard Robinson wants to make it clear he sees himself as a physical running back and welcomes the contact. In fact, he prefers to seek it out.
Robinson ran a team-high 14 times for 75 yards and a touchdown Sunday, including a 12-yard run in which he stuck the 255-pound Werner.
With starting running back T.J. Yeldon uncertain for Sunday's game against the Atlanta Falcons with a sprained left knee, Robinson may get more of opportunity to display his physical running this week.
"I never want to be a finesse guy," Robinson said. "I don’t want to get hit. I want to take the hit to them. That’s always been my rule for me running the ball. If I run the ball I want to take the hit to them. I don’t want to get hit."
