Jaguars RB Yeldon sits out practice, uncertain for finale
Jacksonville Jaguars starting running back T.J. Yeldon, who has missed the last two games with a sprained MCL, sat out of practice Wednesday, putting his status for Sunday's season finale against the Houston Texans in doubt.
Yeldon was hurt in Jacksonville's Dec. 13 win over the Indianapolis Colts. Jaguars head coach Gus Bradley didn't sound optimistic on Wednesday about the rookie's chances of playing against the Texans.
“That will be tough for him just because he has missed a couple of weeks,’’ Bradley said.
Denard Robinson has started the last two weeks in place of Yeldon, but Bradley said he hasn't determined whether Robinson or Jonas Gray will start this week if Yeldon is once again unavailable.
Gray, who was signed off the Miami Dolphins' practice squad on Dec. 15, ran five times for 31 yards in last week's loss to the New Orleans Saints.
If Yeldon is unable to play, he will have finished the season with 741 yards rushing and two touchdowns in 12 games.
