Jaguars reaffirm faith in rookie kicker Myers

Published Oct. 6, 2015 11:14 a.m. ET

A day after kicker Jason Myers failed to capitalize on two opportunities to seal a victory against the Indianapolis Colts, Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Gus Bradley gave rookie a vote of confidence.

Myers missed a 53-yard attempt at the end of regulation and a 48-yard try in overtime. The Colts went on to win the game 16-13.

Despite the misses, Bradley said he isn't worried about Myers moving forward

“The confidence comes from his demeanor and mentality,” Bradley said, per the team's official website. “We know with a younger kicker like this he’s going to go through some of these situations. … We have great faith in him. There were mistakes made out there by multiple players. They took their turns. His was more visible. Everybody saw it. We just have faith in his demeanor and what he’s all about and in practice and in some of the games.”

Through the first four games, Myers has connected on 7 of 10 field-goal attempts and 5 of 6 extra-point attempts.
